Academic Qualifications/Distinctions & Literary Contributions: An excellent education and zeal to learn more has helped him achieve what he is today. He graduated with Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities by securing first division in the year 1988. He graduated in Law with a distinction/first division in the year 1991. He attained distinctions in various subjects at both College and University levels. He had always been an active debater. Association with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES): He has been associated with various NGOs; one of which is FES. FES is a non-profit organization (NGO) supported by the Government of Germany. It aims at strengthening democratic structures, promoting training and policy-oriented research programmes in Germany and in cooperation with partner organizations in more than 100 countries across the globe. FES is active in organizing talks, conferences, roundtable meets for promoting their objectives. Sharing similar objectives (social welfare), Hemant Batra and FES at numerous occasions came together and successfully organized/hosted events.

Association with International Infrastructure and Construction Law Moot (IICLAM): He has always been an enthusiast in organizing and supporting programs for promoting legal education; this can be seen from his efforts made towards formation of IICLAM. IICLAM is a one of its kind competition; it is for the first time that a moot competition oriented exclusively towards laws related to the Construction and Infrastructure sectors has been organized by three prominent Asian organizations associated with law in one form or the other. Kaden Boriss Partners, National University of Singapore and Singapore International Arbitration Centre embarked on a unique intellectual alliance, in the year 2007, thereby founding IICLAM. The founders decided to organize a series of annual international moot competitions to be held in the Asian region and he was unanimously made the Chairperson of IICLAM Organizing Council. The first competition was organized in October 2007 at Delhi, India which was attended by law students all over the Asia and the event was judged by legal luminaries from both the bench and the bar, and leading technocrats. 

Association with Organization for International Cooperation: World Peace: Organization for International Cooperation (OIC), based in Marlton, New Jersey, USA, is a citizen based, non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to solving greatest international challenges. OIC develops and shares breakthrough international cooperation solutions for 21st century global challenges. It is an affiliate of the Alliance for Peace Building. The Alliance is a coalition of over 40 non-profit organizations dedicated to resolving conflict and developing synergy among the peacemaking community. The Alliance brainstorms new ideas for solving and preventing specific conflicts and responds with special peacemaking missions to hot spots around the world. OIC has recently invited Hemant Batra to be one of their advisors; they have a team of 6 advisors on their Advisory Board, comprising eminent personalities and experts from different walks of life. An expert in the field of international commercial law, he will be shortly joining the said Advisory Board as OIC’s 7th advisor.

SAARCLAW assists the SAARC countries in inducting newer laws in the face of an ever-changing society as well as helping the member nations to amend their obsolete laws. He was a Governing Body Member of SAARCLAW (1996-2000), after which he served as a Treasurer of SAARCLAW (2000-2002) and then worked as a Secretary General for two continuous terms (2002-2007) and presently is the elected Vice President of SAARCLAW (2007-2009). As Vice President of SAARCLAW he enjoys a quasi-diplomatic status. Under his leadership, SAARCLAW has grown from a small plant to a tree and have witnessed growth. The Association has organized and hosted various international events.
